With an emphasis on affordability, the SC Tuition Grant is a catalyst for your personal and professional advancement, ensuring that South Carolina residents have the resources they need to succeed in today’s competitive landscape. The grant offers eligible students the opportunity to finish their undergraduate degrees (including online through SCOPE) by awarding up to $5,000 per year to students enrolled full-time.

Who is eligible for the SC Tuition Grant?

Here are the primary SC Tuition Grant eligibility requirements:

  • The student must be a resident of South Carolina (a resident is defined as a “legal resident of SC for at least 12 continuous months immediately preceding the date classes being for the Fall term of the year receiving the grant”).
  • The student must be enrolled in an eligible undergraduate degree program.
  • This tuition grant is available up to four years and is only for regular academic terms (fall and spring; it does not apply to the summer term).
  • The student must submit his/her FAFSA by August 1, 2026, to qualify for the upcoming academic year.
  • The student must enroll in at least 12 credit hours of eligible undergraduate coursework that fulfill degree requirements.
  • The maximum amount per year is $5,000 (or $2,500 per semester; 50% of the annual amount).

The student must have received the grant in the Fall to be eligible for the grant in the Spring.

How can I get the SC Tuition Grant?

  1. Students must complete the FAFSA at https://studentaid.gov/h/apply-for-aid/fafsa
  2. Once approved, you will schedule a time to speak with a Financial Aid Counselor at Bob Jones University who will work with you to get that applied to your degree.
The deadline for receipt of 2026 applications (enrollment in Fall 2026 classes) is August 1, 2026
